Sometimes you gotta laugh It's either that or cry. I pretty much got everything together to take to the track 24 hours later than planned. I did manage to get on the road before midnight, just barely. I made it almost to Borland when I felt a vibration, looked in my mirror and saw what looked like a very skinny tire parting company with my trailer. I pulled over, the right rear tire of my trailer is shredded. Actually, it's pretty much gone except for a couple inches of sidewall next to the rim. I tried calling the one guy I knew in the area that has a trailer similar to mine, who might have been awake at 12:30 am on the long odds that I could borrow a wheel and tire off it for the weekend. No go. I pulled the car all the way forward so that there would be little or no load on the unshod rim and limped home. If I unload the car from the trailer, take a minimum kit and hit the road, I should get to Thunderhill just a little before I need to get there to teach. I guess I just need to hope that everything holds together at the track tomorrow, otherwise I'm two hundred miles up the creek, no means of propulsion, and no trailer to fetch the car. Wish me luck.
