Swing Camp Catalina 2001

These pictures are proof that I'm not Dave Bedno. While he usually carries around a full 35mm SLR, I tend to carry around a stupid little pocket camera that will automatically focus on the wrong thing and automatically set the exposure wrong. These are the pictures that turned out, which I then mangled with my poor scanner skills.

The first thing you see is the casino.

Even when folks aren't in classes, or at an dance put on by the camp, you can find them dancing until it gets so late that the music would bother other people. Several tourists seemed to think that the dancing at the slab was a show being put on for their entertainment and asked when the next show would be.

Gayle really wanted to buy this sailor outfit but was concerned over the money. She ended up buying the top, and didn't notice when Jim bought the skirt and slipped it in the bag without telling her. She certainly makes it look good.

And here, she makes me look good.

Rob Wilson's back. By the time my little camera gets done focusing one never knows what it will end up taking a picture of.

Here's one of Ting's back.

Pete Jacob's Wartime Radio Review played a Conga.

Mo of Orange County has been following me around. He was at the last three swing camps that I went to.

My purple zoot suit with my new hat and my green zoot suit jacket and yellow pants. I was worried that it would be too subtle.

When I ordered my kilt from utilikilts I joked about getting a zoot kilt made. Here is Brett in her zoot skirt.
